Method
- Heat oil in a pressure cooker. Add sliced onions and sauté until light golden.
- Add ginger garlic paste and stir for 30 seconds until aromatic.
- Mix in tomatoes and cook until soft.
- Add chicken pieces and sauté for 2 to 3 minutes on medium heat.
- Add turmeric, pepper, salt, green chilli, carrots, potatoes and peas. Mix well.
- Pour water and close the lid. Pressure cook for 2 whistles or simmer for 20 minutes in a covered pan.
- Open the cooker, gently mix and check seasoning. Add coriander leaves before serving.
Notes
For extra flavour, add a small piece of cinnamon or a few curry leaves while sautéing.
